Have you got a Gratitude Complex?
Dedicated to: My High Performers beating themselves up for wanting more
I’ve got a question for you: are you asking for what you really want?
Most people settle for what they think they can get instead of what they truly deeply desire.
Why do you think that is?
Over the past two years working with High-Performing Women I started to see particular patterns arise. Highly ambitious women feeling guilty for wanting more.
I've decided to call this the GRATITUDE COMPLEX;
the notion whereby one deeply desires more (in any area of life) and then thinks "but I should I be happy/grateful for what I have” which they then allow to stop them from declaring and going after what they deeply desire.
And this breaks my heart because let's be honest, there is a part in all of us that craves a deeper life experience.
Whether that is more purpose. More money. More freedom. Deeper connections. More pleasure. More confidence.
Whatever it is for you, we are all here to GROW and continue CREATING the life of our dreams. And you do not need to feel guilty about that!
Bu here’s the thing. Your life will be limited to the level of your thinking. If you want to expand your life, you have to first expand your thinking.....
So let's start here. Most people have what we call a THIS or THAT conversation happening (also known as binary thinking). And in fact one three letter word can completely transform your reality.....hello "AND"
You can be grateful for what you have AND ask for more.
(Read that again)
You can be thankful you have a job (particularly in these times) AND decide you're worthy of a fulfilling career.
You can be socially minded, driven to make an impact AND be committed to creating financial freedom.
You can love your old friends AND crave more inspiring uplifting connections.
You can appreciate your current relationship/intimate partner AND declare that you are actually committed to having someone who fully aligns with your vision and values.
You can be an absolute boss who gets shit done AND then has the most restful spacious moments/weekends/holidays.
You are ALLOWED to be GRATEFUL for what you have, ask for what you really want, AND not feel guilty about it.
I've helped hundreds of women test the limitations of their thinking, claim their worth, and action their dreams. Yes they were scared, they weren't sure if they could do it or not but they decided they were worth it and we made it happen.
And just like these women, you do not have to settle. I used to be so scared of being seen as being "too ambitious" or "too much" but ya know what - we get one life on this earth and we get to call in whatever it is we desire! You are worthy of ALL of it.
So, where has the #gratitudecomplex got you playing small?
Stay grateful and keep striving,
Bri xx
